HVAC systems are expensive and regularly replacing the filters extends their lifespan to ensure that it is not being overworked due to clogging
With an HVAC filter, you can prevent airflow and temperature fluctuations that make your indoor environment uncomfortable
HVAC filters will help maintain the system's efficiency and reduce energy consumption which can help save costs over time
What does MERV mean?
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values which reports a filter’s ability to capture particles between .3 and 1.0 microns. The number behind MERV indicates the rating.
What do the different MERV ratings mean?
The higher the MERV rating, the more particles they capture. A MERV 6-13 is enough for households but AirDoctor took it a step further as MERV 13-16s are hospital standard! Our MERV 14 HVAC filters will remove 96% of particles 1-3 microns in size.
What particles are captured with a MERV 14?
Pet dander, lint, household dust, dust mite debris, pollen, mold spores, smog particles, smoke, viruses, cough/sneeze debris, bacteria, candle soot, PM2.5, exhaust particles, ultra-fine particles
How often do I need to change my HVAC filter?
We recommend changing them every 3 months.
Why do I need to regularly change my HVAC filter?
Dirty/clogged HVAC filters will result in them having to work harder. In the long run, that will cost you more in energy consumption, maintenance and possible repairs. Changing them regularly will extend the life of your HVAC system and save costs!
